What is Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening helps to eliminate stains and discoloration that are causing you to be ashamed of your smile. We utilize KöR Whitening in our office, which is a system that uses custom-made trays to deliver high-quality results. Professional whitening is monitored to ensure results are achieved optimally. We can help to provide you with the whitening treatment you need so that you can finally feel confident in your smile.

Why is Teeth Whitening needed?

Your teeth may dull and yellow over time and with age. However, certain lifestyle and dietary habits can accelerate discoloration. Things like smoking, drinking a lot of coffee or drinking too much dark soda can affect the color of your teeth. Deep discoloration and stains are often impossible to remove on your own. Professional whitening using KöR Whitening trays are effective at eliminating these stains.

Who is a candidate for Teeth Whitening?

Whitening typically only works on natural teeth. Even the best whitening methods and products available won’t lighten restorations like veneers, fillings, crowns and bridges. If you have problems with severe sensitivity, we may recommend other methods to whiten and lighten your teeth. Whitening results can be maintained with proper oral hygiene and routine touch-ups.

What happens during the Whitening process?

We use KöR Whitening in our office. This system uses custom-made trays with a patented whitening gel that is used to lift and dissolve stains. The trays are unique in that they prevent saliva from entering and the whitening gel from coming out. The trays can be worn overnight for optimal results. To create these trays, we will need to take impressions of your teeth. The new trays are then fitted to ensure a proper suction. If you need additional whitening gel in the future, you can keep the trays and simply come in to purchase new gel. KöR Whitening is effective at eliminating years’ worth of stains and deep discoloration.
