Most pediatric appointments will begin with a cleaning. The hygienist will remove all tartar and plaque from your child’s teeth. The teeth are then flossed and polished to a high shine. We then examine your child’s smile for any signs of tooth decay and gingivitis. We can create a treatment plan if additional work is necessary. By bringing your child into the office regularly, it prevents the onset of decay and the need for more invasive procedures. We can even help to provide education to you and your child to improve hygiene habits at home. Dental care is done both at home and in the office. It is up to you as the parent and guardian to ensure your child is brushing their teeth twice a day and flossing at least once a day.
