Pediatric Dentistry

What is Pediatric Dentistry?

Pediatrics is the field of dentistry that involves children. We offer preventative, restorative and orthodontic care to children of all ages. We welcome your whole family into our relaxed, state-of-the-art practice. Our goal is to provide your child with a healthy, full smile for life.

Why is Pediatric Dentistry needed?

The more often that your child visits the dentist, the less nervous and fearful they will be. It is important that all children see the dentist at least twice a year for regular cleanings and exams. We use kid-friendly terminology at all times to decrease the anxiety your child may be feeling.

Who is a good candidate for Pediatric Dentistry?

We provide pediatric care to children and teens of all ages. We recommend that parents bring their babies into the office for the first time once their first teeth start to come in. From there, your child will come to see us twice a year for regular checkups. We can offer and provide other preventative options for children as well, such as sealants and fluoride treatments.

What can your child expect with Pediatric Dentistry?

Most pediatric appointments will begin with a cleaning. The hygienist will remove all tartar and plaque from your child’s teeth. The teeth are then flossed and polished to a high shine. We then examine your child’s smile for any signs of tooth decay and gingivitis. We can create a treatment plan if additional work is necessary. By bringing your child into the office regularly, it prevents the onset of decay and the need for more invasive procedures. We can even help to provide education to you and your child to improve hygiene habits at home. Dental care is done both at home and in the office. It is up to you as the parent and guardian to ensure your child is brushing their teeth twice a day and flossing at least once a day.

If your child is in need of a quality pediatric dentist, call us today and we will be happy to welcome them into our office.
